Week 8 Stark County high school football scores, boxes, standings — see who won Friday

Week 8 of the high school football season in Stark County is a wrap. The game of the night was in the Eastern Buckeye Conference where West Branch scored late on a surprising play call to beat Alliance to claim sole possession of first place. Federal League-leader McKinley kept its winning streak going by beating Jackson. Lake did its part to stay even in the loss column with McKinley by winning at Hoover. Elsewhere, Massillon won its seventh straight game, while in the PAC-7, Canton South and Northwest moved into a tie for first after the other league leader was upset Friday.

Miss any of our coverage throughout Week 8 here's some of it: a breakdown of this week's games, the area stat leaders through seven weeks, who we picked to win this week, the FridayNightOhio power poll, the latest Associated Press state poll and the OHSAA computer ratings heading into Week 8. Plus here's a look back at our first half of the season award winners.
