Week 7 Scoreboard: Colts top Pleasant to remain undefeated in MOAC

Week 7 was one to forget for Richland County high school football teams.

Area schools went a combined 3-9 on Friday night with only Clear Fork, Mansfield Senior and Crestview earning victories.

Let's take a look scores in Richland County as well as the surrounding area in the Week 7 scoreboard.

Clear Fork 56, Pleasant 21

The Colts kept hold of first place in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference with an easy win over Pleasant.

Victor Skoog got the scoring started with a 12-yard touchdown run before Pawie Ault scored on runs of 1 and 4 yards to make it 21-0 at the beginning of the second quarter. After Pleasant cut it to 21-14, Luke Schlosser stopped the bleeding with a 1-yard run with 12 seconds left in the first half to give the Colts a two-touchdown halftime lead.

After the Spartans cut it to 28-21, Skoog connected with Jay Jackson on back-to-back possessions for 8- and 27-yard touchdown passes to make it 42-21 midway through the third. Ault added his third score of the night before Mason Sansom capped the scoring with a 12-yard TD run.

The Colts had a balanced offensive night with 488 total yards — 255 on the ground and 233 through the air. Skoog threw for all 233, going 11-for-17 passing with two TDs. Jackson was his main target with five catches for 138 yards and both scores. Skoog also ran for 119 yards and a TD on 12 carries while Ault had 56 yards and three touchdowns on 12 attempts and Schlosser had 14 yards and a TD on five carries. Trystyn Robison added 30 yards on four touches.

The Colts (6-1, 4-0) travel to Marion Harding in Week 8.

West Holmes 48, Lexington 14

The Minutemen suffered a lopsided loss to West Holmes on Friday night in Ohio Cardinal Conference play.

The Minutemen jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter when AJ Young connected with Brayden Fogle on a 45-yard pass play. West Holmes then scored 41 unanswered before Jackson Windom returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to make it 41-14 early in the fourth quarter.

Young was 6-for-16 passing for 78 yards and a touchdown while Ethan Robles was the leading rusher with 37 yards on five carries.

Lexington (2-5, 2-2) travels to New Philadelphia in Week 8.

New Philadelphia 21, Madison 0

The Rams were shut out by New Philadelphia in an OCC game Friday night.

Madison (0-7, 0-4) will look for its first win in Week 8 at home against Mount Vernon.

Mapleton 54, Plymouth 43

The Big Red lost a barn-burner to Mapleton in Firelands Conference action Friday.

Trace McVey got the scoring started with a 27-yard touchdown run with 9:59 left in the first quarter. Layne Bushey added a 12-yard run midway through the first as the two later connected on a 15-yard passing TD early in the second quarter. McVey had an 8-yard TD run and a 10-yarder to go with a 16-yarder to close out the scoring for the Big Red.

The Big Red piled up 409 yards of total offense, including 273 on the ground and 136 through the air. McVey connected on 10 of 15 passes for 129 yards. Layne Bushey led the way with 99 yards on 11 carries while McVey added 75 yards on nine carries, Colton Sparks had 69 yards on seven carries and Shae Sparks added 27 yards on 11 touches.

The Big Red (3-4) hosts Crestview in Week 8.
