Week 7 HS Football Roundup: Northmor ends two-game skid

HOWARD — Northmor snapped its two-game losing skid with a 36-23 Knox Morrow Athletic Conference victory at East Knox on Friday.

The Golden Knights (5-2, 2-2) trailed 11-0 late in the first quarter before scoring 29 unanswered points. Northmor's A.J. Bower was 20-for-39 passing for 331 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. Hunter Fulk made eight of those catches for 177 yards and three touchdowns, while C.J. Stoney and Bo Landin also had TD catches.

Northmor ended with 373 total yards and 19 first downs, but was hurt by 14 penalties for 160 yards and two turnovers.

East Knox (2-5, 1-3) had 414 yards overall with 250 in the air and 164 on the ground. The Bulldogs turned it over three times on interceptions by Caleb Schnuerer, Cowin Becker and Stoney, plus they were penalized nine times for 90 yards.

North Union 48, Benjamin Logan 14

North Union easily handled its business in its final home regular season game, moving to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference's Mad River Division.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 27-0 lead and cruised to the victory over the Raiders (2-5, 1-1), helped by a defense that recovered three fumbles and picked off three passes.

NU's Cayden Lassiter was 5-for-5 passing for 99 yards and one touchdown pass to Nolan Draper. Owen Davis led the squad with 187 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns and added seven tackles and an interception. Landon Converse had a 57-yard interception return for TD as well.

North Union totaled 375 yards and 18 first downs to Ben Logan's 261 yards and 12 first downs.

Centerburg 28, Mount Gilead 14

The Trojans (6-1, 4-0) jumped out to a 14-0 lead at Mount Gilead and never trailed in the KMAC game.

Centerburg rolled up 393 yards with 253 on the ground and 140 in the air. Tyler Johnson was 11 of 16 passing for two scores and ran 21 times for 159 yards and a touchdown. Caylan Lemaster added 94 rushing yards on 15 tries.

For Mount Gilead (4-3, 2-2), Matthew Bland completed 9 of 15 passes for 113 yards and added 112 yards on 18 carries with a TD. Garrett George had 59 yards on 17 carries and caught a TD pass. The Indians had 284 total yards.

Clear Fork 56, Pleasant 21

The Spartans (1-6, 0-4) fell behind 21-0, but clawed back into the road Mid Ohio Athletic Conference game with two touchdowns in the second quarter to trim the lead to 21-14. However, the Colts (6-1, 4-0) scored with 12 seconds left in the half to bump the lead to 28-14.

Pleasant recovered a fumble early in the third quarter, and Owen Lowry scored from the 1 to again get within a touchdown at 28-21, but Clear Fork ended the game by scoring 28 unanswered points. The Colts used a balanced attack with 255 ground yards and 233 air yards to beat the Spartans.

Danville 28, Cardington 20

The Blue Devils (6-1, 4-0) remain in first place in the KMAC after surviving a road game at Cardington (1-6, 0-4). No other details were available.
