Weather: A taste of winter, then warm up for North Texas. Here’s the timeline

After a taste of winter Wednesday and Thursday, highs will climb into the 70s on Friday before another cold front brings cooler temperatures to North Texas this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday’s high in Dallas-Fort Worth will be near 51 with winds out of the north at 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Wednesday’s low will be in the mid-30s.

Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with highs in the mid-50s and gusty winds out of the south.

The southerly winds will continue Friday, pushing the high to 72. Wind gusts could be as high as 30 mph.

A cold front Friday night will push temperatures back into the 50s on Saturday. There’s a slight chance of showers Saturday night into Sunday.
