Update: Weather halts North Carolina vs. Northwestern women's lacrosse game at Final Four

Update: The UNC vs. Northwestern women's lacrosse match resumed at 2:32 p.m. ET/1:32 p.m. CT. 

The North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Northwestern women's lacrosse match in the 2022 NCAA Final Four was halted during the first quarter on Friday, May 27.

The game was stopped with 1:33 remaining in the first quarter. Northwestern led UNC 6-0 at the time the game was stopped.

Play was stopped at about 12:55 p.m. ET, and a minimum 30-minute delay was required.

UNC came into the contest 20-0 overall. Most recently, North Carolina defeated Stony Brook 8-5 in the NCAA Elite Eight on May 19.

Northwestern entered the matchup 16-4 overall. On May 19, Northwestern beat Syracuse 15-4 in the NCAA Elite Eight.

The winner advances to the NCAA Tournament national championship game at noon ET/11 a.m. CT on Sunday, May 29.
