Waynesboro man nabbed in child pornography investigation

WAYNESBORO — The Augusta County Sheriff's Office arrested a Waynesboro man last week after he was indicted on multiple charges of child pornography possession, according to an arrest report.

On Nov. 28, the Augusta County grand jury indicted Ricky T. Tolley, 67, on 15 counts of possessing child porn.

An affidavit to a search warrant filed in Augusta County Circuit Court shows that the Internet Crimes Against Children task force was given a lead on Jan. 11 concerning a residence on Lonesome Pine Lane in the county, where child pornography was allegedly being downloaded.

When authorities went to Tolley's home, the affidavit stated he reportedly said, "Oh, this is about the stuff I been looking at on the computer."

Tolley admitted to having more than 100 pornographic images of children under the age of 18, the affidavit said.

After obtaining a search warrant, a number of items were seized from the home by the sheriff's office, including a USB drive, a DVD, CDs and three laptop computers, according to court records. The seized items were then sent off for forensic testing.

Following his arrest last week, Tolley remains behind bars without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
