How did Luke Combs meet his wife?
Luke and Nicole’s story started at a music festival in Florida in 2016—before Luke was a famous musician. According to Country Fancast, the pair saw each other across the crowd and Nicole asked Luke to join her and her friends. When the weekend’s festivities came to an end, Luke and Nicole headed back to Nashville, where they both lived.
In an interview with People, Luke admitted that he had nothing at the time and was very much the portrait of a struggling musician. While many people doubted that his and Nicole’s relationship would go anywhere, the pair started dating.
Part of what helped make that happen was when Luke wrote his hit song, “Crazy Beautiful,” which was inspired by Nicole. He wrote the song before they became official and admitted that doing so earned him serious brownie points in the process.
When did Luke propose to Nicole?
As Luke and Nicole forged their relationship, she became the inspiration for a number of his songs, including “Better Together,” “Nothing Like You,” and “Forever After All.” As if the lyrics weren’t reason enough to believe the pair would get hitched, Luke proposed to Nicole sometime in 2018 in their kitchen but waited to share the news until they were in Hawaii and could snap better pictures for the announcement.
“She said yes a while ago but this is a way better place to take pictures than the kitchen,” he wrote accompanying the announcement. “Can’t wait to spend forever with you @nicohocking I Love You! #Mahalo.”
When did Luke and Nicole get married?
After being engaged for almost two years, Luke and Nicole tied the knot on at their beach home in southern Florida on August 1, 2020. The couple was surrounded by family during their nuptials. Possibly the sweetest part of their union is how vocally excited Luke is about the whole thing.
“Yesterday was the best day of my life,” he captioned a post of the couple a day after their wedding. “I got to marry my best friend. I love you @nicocombs, here’s to forever.”
A week later, he posted another in which Nicole looks like a real-life princess while the two stand in front of a gorgeous sunset. “Still seems like a fairytale @nicocombs, I love you,” he captioned the post. “Probably gonna post a lot of these so just get used to it.”
In February 2021, Luke announced on Instagram that "Forever After All," which was inspired by Nicole, would be his next single heading to country radio.
Shortly after that, the couple celebrated Valentine's Day together at the Daytona 500. Luke posted the sweetest Instagram ever, saying that "This woman makes me a better man every single day."
