WATCH: Last-second 3-pointer inches Oxford Hills past Bangor in AA North boys quarterfinal

Feb. 18—Teigan Pelletier's 3-pointer with three seconds remaining lifted second-ranked Oxford Hills to a 43-42 victory over No. 7 Bangor in their Class AA North boys basketball quarterfinal in South Paris on Thursday night.

The victory advances coach Scott Graffam's Vikings (16-3) to a semifinal against No. 6 Cheverus of Portland (9-9) at 2 p.m. next Thursday at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

Cheverus advanced in even more dramatic fashion on Wednesday night, as Silvano Ismail banked in a 40-foot shot at the buzzer to give the Stags a 44-42 upset victory over No. 3 Portland.

Bangor (6-13) fell to Oxford Hills for the third time this season and for the second time by one point at South Paris in the last nine nights. The Vikings edged the Rams 41-40 on Feb. 8.

Colby Dillingham, a 6-foot-10 senior center, led Oxford Hills with 14 points, while Pelletier — a 6-foot-6 sophomore forward who had been named first-team All-Class AA North earlier in the day — scored 13 points and Tanner Bickford added seven.

Sophomore forward Landon Clark led Bangor with a game-high 17 points, including eight during the fourth quarter. Senior guard Ben Caron scored nine points on three 3-pointers and senior forward Colton Emerson added eight points.

This game was fairly tight throughout, with Oxford Hills leading 13-12 after the first period and 21-15 at halftime before Bangor outscored the Vikings 13-6 during the third quarter to take a 28-27 lead into the final eight minutes.
