As he did to open the first half, Max Johnson found his favorite weapon in Kayshon Boutte. The offense hadn’t shown any explosion in the first half following their opening drive that resulted in a touchdown pass to No. 1. The offense went four drives averaging just 19 yards per drive.

As they opened the second half, the offense looked to strike once again. They started it off with a run by Tyrion Davis-Price for 11 yards. That put him at seven carries for 43 yards in the game. On the very next play Johnson found Boutte for a 64-yard catch and run for the touchdown. It looked very reminiscent of his success against the UCLA defense.

Johnson was able to put the ball right on Boutte that allowed the long catch and run to go up 14-3. The Tigers need more of this offense to close out the game with a lot of time left in this one.
