WATCH: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes going through pregame warm-ups

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has begun his pregame warm-up routine ahead of the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Mahomes is dealing with a high ankle sprain suffered during the AFC divisional round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and he is expected to play on Sunday night. That said, even Mahomes didn’t exactly know how he’d respond to the injury until he got down on the field for the game. He was one of the first out on the field per usual and now he’s begun getting warmed up.

ESPN’s Adam Teicher was down on the field and captured some video of Mahomes doing some high knees to get himself loose ahead of the game.

Our friend Austin of It’s Always Sunny in Chiefs Kingdom podcast, also captured some video of Mahomes rolling out and throwing.

Mahomes doesn’t appear to be hindered in any way by the ankle, based on the early video evidence. Ultimately, how it responds once the bullets are live and the game is being played will be the biggest determining factor in the team’s success.
