WATCH: CBS wastes no time rolling out a Big Ten promo video

In case you missed the news Thursday, the Big Ten finally announced the details of its new media rights deal that has been rumored to be in the works since May. And yeah, it’s a massive one. The new deal spans seven years and is reportedly worth over $7 billion dollars spread among broadcast partners Fox, CBS, and NBC.

It’s the middle network that raises eyebrows because that 3:30 pm slot the Big Ten will occupy beginning in 2024 is the timeframe the entire college football world is used to seeing a marquee SEC game in.

No longer. At least not after 2023.

That will now be Big Ten territory, and the fine folks at CBS wasted no time in dropping a promo shortly after the news was announced to get Big Ten fans excited. If we’re being honest, it likely ruffled a few feathers in the SEC as well. If you haven’t seen it, check out the video below set to the iconic music CBS has been known for.

I don’t know about you, but something about this just doesn’t feel right. I’m sure I’ll get over it and look forward to this 3:30 slot with that music pulsing in the background and Gary Danielson having to sing the praises of the Big Ten. Maybe.

Who am I kidding, I’ll be right there taking it all in once the changing of the guard occurs.
