In the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Axel Witsel scored an incredible volley to open the scoring in his side’s 2-2 draw with Freiburg.

But it was a bad day for Augsburg goalkeeper Tomas Koubek, who was at fault for a Borussia Monchengladbach goal in his side’s 5-1 loss in the Bundesliga.

And finally there was an embarrassing moment for Great Britain in the 4 x 400 metres relay final at the World Athletics Championships in Doha.

Toby Harries failed to pass the baton on to team mate Rabah Yousif in the second changeover and Great Britain were out of the race.
