Wandrie, Clancy make MIVCA All-State third team

Inland Lakes volleyball standouts Natalie Wandrie and Ryann Clancy were recently named to the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association's All-State team following terrific seasons on the court.

Both juniors, Wandrie, an outside hitter, and Clancy, a libero, secured spots on the MIVCA third team.

Together, the two Bulldogs helped lead the way in a history-making season for Inland Lakes that included a first regional championship since 1995 and a first-ever appearance in a state championship game.

Area players earning spots on the All-State team as honorable mentions were Onaway's Cloe Ehrke and Lexi Horton, as well as Pellston's Jordyn Daily and Grace Morse.

Several players make All-Region squad

The area also saw several players make the All-Region team, including Cheboygan seniors Kyla Thater, Zoey Chamberlain and Jackie Seaman.

For Inland Lakes, Clancy made the All-Region Dream Team, while Olivia Monthei, Alyssa Byrne and Wandrie each earned a spot as well.

The Cardinals were represented by Ehrke, who made the All-Region Dream Team, as well as Lainey Shimel and Horton.

Daily earned a spot on the All-Region Dream Team for the Hornets, who also saw Madison Brown and Morse make the squad.

The MIVCA All-Region Sub-Varsity Coach of the Year honor went to Inland Lakes' Nancy Wandrie, while the Middle School Coach of the Year honor was awarded to Cheboygan's Brooke Demeuse.
