Vote for the Tuscaloosa area boys high school sports athlete of the week

There were several top performers in Tuscaloosa area boys high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week.

Dayton Dixon, Brookwood: Scored eight points with four assists and steals in a 50-44 loss to Springville.

Javion Taylor, Central: Scored 16 points in a 65-47 loss to Hillcrest.

Shah Hall, Hillcrest: Scored 20 points in a 65-47 win over Central.

Joseph Jones, Holy Spirit: Scored 22 points with 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a 69-61 loss to American Christian. Scored 15 points with 11 rebounds in a 54-52 win over South Lamar.

Patten Currington, Northridge: Scored 29 points with 10 rebounds in a 68-58 win over Hueytown. Scored 13 points in a 62-55 win over Central.

Ridge Freeman, Northside: Scored 14 points with four rebounds and made the game-winning 3-pointer in a 42-41 win over Sipsey Valley. Scored 18 points in an 87-65 loss to Hale County.

Julian Whitfield, Holt: Scored 33 points in an 82-65 loss to Gardendale.

Samuel Holt, American Christian: Scored 20 points with two 3-pointers, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 69-61 win over Holy Spirit. Scored 10 points with seven rebounds, three blocks and two assists in a 47-44 loss to Tuscaloosa Academy.

Ben Richardson, Sipsey Valley: Scored 16 points in a 42-41 loss to Northside.

Blake Henderson, Tuscaloosa Academy: Scored 13 points with five rebounds and made a game-winning, buzzer-beating 3-pointer in a 47-44 win over American Christian. Scored 12 points apiece in a 53-48 loss to Aliceville. Scored 16 points in a 50-32 win over Greene County.
