Gaffney's Medley is the Spartanburg Herald-Journal football Athlete of the Week

With a whopping 64% of the vote, Gaffney wide receiver Drew Medley has been selected as the Spartanburg Herald-Journal high school football Athlete of the Week from the quarterfinals of the SCHSL playoffs. Medley caught three passes for 160 yards with two touchdowns in Gaffney's 34-28 win over Byrnes.

In second, with 18% of the vote, is Gaffney linebacker Brayshawn Littlejohn, who recorded 11 total tackles, and three sacks. In third, with 7% of the vote, is another Gaffney playmaker, defensive end Nathan Johnson who recorded eight total tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble.

Nominees:

Shawn Cunningham, Chapman: Cunningham caught two touchdowns, and ran for another TD on a 62-yard reverse in Chapman's 49-27 loss at Clinton (12-0).

Coleman Gray, Chapman: Gray threw three touchdowns passes, including a 60-yard bomb.

Nathan Johnson, Gaffney: Johnson, an Appalachian St. commit, recorded eight total tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble in Gaffney's 34-28 win over Byrnes.

Brayshawn Littlejohn, Gaffney: Littlejohn, a Missouri commit, recorded 11 total tackles, and three sacks.

Grayson Loftis, Gaffney: Loftis, a Duke commit, threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns on 16-for-28 passing.

Drew Medley, Gaffney: Medley caught three passes for 160 yards with two touchdowns.
