George Tzoulafis of Demarest voted North Jersey Wrestler of the Week for Jan. 9-15
After four days of voting, Demarest junior George Tzoulafis has been selected as the North Jersey Wrestler of the Week for Jan. 9-15.
The Norseman heavyweight picked up his second "walk-off pin" of the season on Saturday, downing Nicola DeStefano of Dumont in 1:18. He's won his last four matches by fall.

Mathew Carjaval
Bogota/Ridgefield Park senior
The Scarlet Bucs swept four matches last week to improve to 8-0, and Carjaval was essential in their breakthrough start. The 215/285-pounder stayed unbeaten with four wins, including three pins in the first period.
Michael Dellagatta
St. Joseph junior
Dellagatta placed second at 172 pounds with four bonus-point wins at the prestigious Escape the Rock tournament. That helped the Green Knights finish third out of 59 teams, behind Malvern Prep and Bethlehem Catholic.
Ryan Hartung
New Milford junior
Hartung didn't skip a beat for the Knights after returning from a two-week absence. The former state qualifier beat all three opponents, including a key 10-5 decision in the final bout to lift New Milford past Hackettstown.
Daniel Hong
Paramus senior
Hong turned the tide in the Spartans' three-point win in the River Dell/Westwood Duals final by beating Passaic Tech's Alex Vertedor, 6-2, in sudden victory to avenge a recent loss. It was his second straight day with a ranked win, having knocked off Clifton's Najati Salim on Friday.
