Jaiden Puig, Serenity Petaia take top honors in Clarksville's athlete of the week polls

Northeast quarterback Jaiden Puig and Northwest soccer standout Serenity Petaia were named this week's athletes of the week in Clarksville.

Puig captured 52.3% of the overall boys total votes after collecting 3,559 votes for himself. He beat out Northwest's Jewuan Moffett who had 1,819 votes for second place and Puig's teammate Brandon Phillips who finished third with 974 votes.

Puig was 14-of-18 passing with 308 yards and seven touchdowns in a 54-6 win over Northwest last Friday night.

Petaia ran away with this week's votes, capturing 1,748 total for 79.3% of the girls' overall total (2,203). West Creek's Madison Bennett finished a distant second with 276 votes while Rossview's Mya Martin took third with 127 votes.

Petaia had three goals to lead her team in a 5-1 win over Clarksville Academy last Tuesday.
