VOLLEYBALL: Bemidji receives No. 6 seed, to face Sartell-St. Stephen in section quarterfinal

Oct. 26—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji High School volleyball team received the No. 6 seed in the Section 8-4A volleyball playoffs and will face No. 3 Sartell-St. Stephen in Sartell for a quarterfinal matchup. Seeding was determined Sunday by a vote of the coaches.

The Lumberjacks (13-13) will face the Sabres (16-7) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28. If the Jacks advance, they will face the winner of No. 2 Rogers and No. 7 Elk River.

The semifinals will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the high seed, while the championship match will be on Nov. 6 at a neutral site.

On the other half of the bracket, St. Michael-Albertville took home the top seed and hosts No. 8 Buffalo in the opener. Moorhead and Brainerd — two teams that Bemidji swept late in the regular season — respectively earned the Nos. 4 and 5 seeds and will meet up in the other quarterfinal pairing.

BHS fell to Sartell-St. Stephen on the road in four sets during the regular season.
