Vigil star responds to "ludicrous" fan question about eggs
If you were sure that Vigil characters would solely rely on tinned food whilst on their submarine, you might want to rethink that.
In the new BBC One procedural series, set on a fictional Vanguard class nuclear submarine, there's something else on the menu too.
After fans spotted what they thought was an inaccuracy – a big egg carton in the kitchen – one of the stars of the show has set the record straight.

Anjli Mohindra, who plays Surgeon Lieutenant Tiffany Docherty, weighed in on the egg-gate.
"The things that are noteworthy [on social media], friends will send [to me]. I just really enjoy when viewers start picking up on things and trying to work things out. Or when they ask ludicrous things like: 'Why do we have eggs on the boat?' And I think you know you've hit something good [when that happens]," Mohindra said during a BAFTA Q&A.
So why the eggs, one might ask. The answer is more straight-forward than you think.
"We're very early on this tour, on our sub-six-month mission, so yeah we have eggs, and we're going to bloody enjoy them while we can, before we move onto the tinned food," Mohindra continued.

Premiering in August this year, Vigil focuses on Detective Chief Inspector Amy Silva of Police Scotland Yard, played by Gentleman Jack star Suranne Jones.
Silva is sent aboard Vigil to investigate a mysterious death, taking place shortly after the disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler. But, of course, there's more than meets the eye.
Alongside Mohindra and Jones, the cast also features Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie, as well as Shaun Evans, Paterson Joseph and Martin Compston.
Vigil airs Sundays on BBC One.
