Apr. 15—HIGH POINT — Vice President Kamala Harris will make her first visit to High Point on Monday since taking the oath of office three months ago.

The White House says Harris will travel to High Point and Greensboro. Additional details, including exactly where she will go, will be released later.

Harris, a former California senator and state attorney general, made history by becoming the first Black and first female vice president. She took the oath of office with President Joe Biden at the Capitol during the inauguration Jan. 20.

Harris will become the first president or vice president to visit High Point while in office since President George W. Bush came to the city in 2002.

As a candidate in September 2016, Donald Trump held a campaign rally at the Millis Center on the campus of High Point University.

Neither Biden, Harris, Trump nor former Vice President Mike Pence came to High Point last year during the campaign.
