No injures after shots fired

MOORPARK – A 25-year-old Moorpark man was arrested Saturday night after a report of a shooting near Old Town Moorpark, authorities said.

Moorpark police were called around 11:15 p.m. to the area of Second and Bard streets about a fight and shots being fired, according to Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Trina Newman. No one was injured, she said.

Moorpark contracts its police services through the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

The man was arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies, including carrying a concealed knife, being a felon in possession of ammunition, altering a firearm and discharging a firearm.

He was booked into Ventura County jail and is being held on $70,000 bail, according to jail records.

The 25-year-old is slated to appear in Ventura County Superior Court Aug. 29 at 8:15 a.m., jail records show.

1 arrested after hours-long barricade

VENTURA COUNTY – An hours-long barricade Saturday of a man on the roof of a condominium near the Ventura County line and Malibu ended with his arrest, authorities said.

The 28-year-old, who did not have a known address, first showed up at a Ventura County fire station in the 11000 block Pacific Coast Highway making odd statements and then headed to a nearby gated condo complex around 9 a.m., according to Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Trina Newman.

The man somehow got up to the roof of one of the structures where he stayed until about 2 p.m. when he was taken into custody and booked into Ventura County jail, Newman said.

The 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of three counts of felony vandalism: resisting arrest: two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, namely roof tiles; forgery and attempted burglary, according to jail records.

He is being held on $60,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., jail records show.
