Vehicle, pedestrian collision injures one

Oct. 5—Logansport first responders were called to the 1000 block of High Street around 6 p.m. Tuesday after a collision between a passenger vehicle and a delivery driver.

The delivery driver exited her own vehicle and stepped into the street as the other vehicle was driving past. Logansport Police Sergeant Travis Nolte said the driver of the passenger vehicle was unable to come to a full stop before reaching the woman.

Nolte said that while the women's injuries did not appear to be life threatening, he is not sure of the full extent of the damage.

"As if right now, we don't know the extent of her injuries," he said.

Logansport resident James Able had ordered tacos from food delivery app Doordash on Tuesday. He had just gotten up from his porch to meet his delivery driver at the sidewalk when the accident occurred.

"She stepped out of the car and started walking across without even looking, and ... you can see the skid marks where (the driver) tried to stop," Able said. "It was bad. I thought, oh my God. I was trying to tell the lady driving it's not her fault. I think she was tore up from actually hitting her, but it's not her fault."

Able said he hope's everyone involved is okay.

Nolte said the crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information should call the Logabsport Police Department at 574- 753-4101.
