Valerie Bertinelli Shares Sweet Photo With Late Ex-Husband Eddie Van Halen

The rock musician passed away in 2020 at the age of 65.

On Jan. 26, Valerie Bertinelli remembered her late ex-husband, Eddie Van Halen, on what would've been his 67th birthday.

The actress posted a few photos on Instagram, the first showing herself and Van Halen leaning their heads together and smiling, while the second shows their son, Wolfgang Van Halen, peeking out between them as they all grin.

Bertinelli captioned the post with a simple white heart emoji.

Many people commented on the update sharing their memories of the rock legend and wishing her and Wolfgang well.

One person commented in support, "Peace be with you and Wolfie today. May beautiful memories fill your day."

Van Halen passed away on Oct. 6, 2020, after a long battle with throat cancer.

Wolfgang confirmed his death on Twitter, writing, "He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop."

Bertinelli shared a tribute to her ex-husband on Instagram as well when he died.

She wrote, "40 years ago my life changed forever when I met you. You gave me the one true light in my life, our son, Wolfgang. Through all your challenging treatments for lung cancer, you kept your gorgeous spirit and that impish grin.
I’m so grateful Wolfie and I were able to hold you in your last moments.
I will see you in our next life my love."

The two were married for over 25 years, from 1981 to 2007, but they were clearly still very close after their divorce as they raised their son together.

Van Halen co-founded the rock band Van Halen with his brother, Alex Van Halen, in 1972, in which he played guitar and keyboard, sang backing vocals, and was the main songwriter of their discography. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
