Uvalde residents mourn school shooting victims

STORY: Residents prayed next to flower wreaths, balloons and pinwheels.

The square across the street from the municipal courthouse has served as a site for mourning in the days following the shooting, where dozens have gathered to lay flowers, console one another, and write messages on symbolic crosses engraved with the names of the victims.

Tuesday's (May 24) fatal shooting of 19 students and two teachers in Uvalde by an 18-year-old gunman equipped with an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle has reignited a national debate over the country's gun laws.
