Ushering in the holiday season with Breakfast with Santa

The annual Breakfast with Santa event, hosted jointly by the East Hampton and Marlborough Rotary Clubs, is a long-standing tradition.

For the price of a donation to the East Hampton and Marlborough Food Bank, visitors could enjoy a hearty breakfast, and participate in a number of other activities at this year’s event, held on Dec. 3 at East Hampton High School.

Activities such as an Amber Alert table, face-painting, and ornament-making were run by Interact Club members, junior members of the Rotary Club based at East Hampton High School. And of course Santa was available for chats and photos.

Organizers said that the Breakfast with Santa event draws an average of 800 visitors, with as many as 1,200 attending in years past. Since COVID, the numbers have dwindled a bit, but at 9 a.m. at this year’s event the cafeteria was full, the line to see Santa was long, and organizers hoped to realize 450 to 500 visitors by the end of the morning.
