Whenever books are adapted into movies or TV shows, there will inevitably be changes to what the characters look like. Sometimes the castings will turn out pretty similar to their book descriptions. Other times, they'll end up being super different!

In honor of the new Pretty Little Liars series, Original Sin, streaming now on HBO Max, I decided to go back in time a little and revisit the original source material: the books! I used an AI generator to create the OG Pretty Little Liars characters based on their book descriptions — and let me tell you, the results are pretty wild.
To make the portraits, I used Artbreeder and took some existing images, morphed them together, and then played around with specific traits based on the novel descriptions. Here are the finished results:
