The American told Sky Sports after the match: “It’s unreal, what a day for me, but we wanted a clean sheet.
“I’m not going to think about it too much as I sleep tonight but that’s always our team goal.
“It’s obviously a very special day for me.”
By scoring his treble, he became Chelsea’s youngest player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League while becoming the second American to do so - behind former Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey.
It capped a remarkable appearance from the forward, who has only made ten bit-part appearances since linking up with the club in the summer.
Pulisic, who initially forgot to claim the match ball from the referee after recording his perfect hat-trick, added of the blunder: “I just didn’t think about it but my team-mates reminded me!”
