La Salle stands in the way of that goal as the Explorers travel to South Kingstown for a midweek matchup.
After dropping its A-10 opener at Davidson, URI (11-4 overall, 2-1 Atlantic 10) has reeled off back-to-back wins, besting St. Joe's 75-64 at home and running away from UMass 81-68 Saturday in Amherst.
The Rams owned the paint against UMass, outscoring the Minutemen 46-8 inside. UMass shot just 7-for-32 from 2-point range and did the majority of its scoring from beyond the 3-point arc.
Makhel Mitchell was again URI's leading scorer, pouring in 20 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the field. Ishmael El-Amin added 16 points, draining four of five tries from behind the 3-point arc.
Mitchell has led the Rams in scoring throughout the A-10 games, averaging 18 points per game in conference play.
La Salle (6-8, 1-3) comes into the game fresh off a 75-64 victory Monday over St. Joe's behind junior guard Jack Clark's 21 points. Senior forward Clifton Moore added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in the win.
