Like father, like daughter.
When tweeting out her congratulations to Boris Johnson, the newly-elected prime minister of the U.K., Ivanka Trump mistakenly wrote “United Kingston” instead of “United Kingdom” in her message.
Although the original tweet has since been deleted and the first daughter posted a new message with the correct spelling, the internet isn’t letting Ivanka live it down.
Some people have reposted screenshots of the White House senior adviser’s original tweet with the spelling error to poke fun, prompting “United Kingston” to trend on Twitter.

The marvellous thing about becoming the PM of the United Kingston, no matter how sincere or credulous, is that it is an Empire upon which the Sun will never set, especially having never existed in the first place. pic.twitter.com/OkeuRZu1by— Count St Germain (@CountStGermain) July 23, 2019
Could be the last Prime Minister of United Kingston as well. The fragile peace between the Oceana Ski Lodge and Tokyo Karaoke bars will not survive this. pic.twitter.com/38SXWNdJ6c— Tom Peck (@tompeck) July 23, 2019
You know, the irony is Boris Johnson probably would be a good MP for the United Kingston. https://t.co/nLjEsmKVnb— Molly Jong-Fast (@MollyJongFast) July 23, 2019
Like father, like daughter. Although I wish Johnson was the next prime minister of the United Kingston— Jason Haber (@jasonhaber) July 23, 2019
Sadly, Ivanka Trump has deleted tweet congratulating Boris Johnson on becoming Prime Minister of the United Kingston. There was a fleeting hope that last few weeks had all been a misunderstanding & Johnson had been a candidate for a hitherto obscure municipal post in SW London.— Patrick Wintour (@patrickwintour) July 23, 2019
Twitter users also jokingly compared the mistake to President Trump’s tweet praising the “Prince of Whales” in June. People online are calling on the White House to try using spell check more often.

Ivanka trump trying out Daddy's dumb spelling tricks, with "United Kingston," which is where the Prince of Whales lives.— BrooklynDad_Defiant! (@mmpadellan) July 23, 2019
Everybody knows that.😉 pic.twitter.com/s5XbZDhhQa
The internet never forgets. Is the United Kingston next to Whales? pic.twitter.com/6IAtq7vBmN— Angela Belcamino (@AngelaBelcamino) July 23, 2019
Ivanka sends her congratulations to the Prime Minister of the United “Kingston” shortly after Trump praised the Prince of “Whales.” These people are so utterly incompetent and embarrassing even on the smallest stuff. pic.twitter.com/Q5c6v00YYv— Brian Klaas (@brianklaas) July 23, 2019
The tweet comes after Boris Johnson was elected the leader of the Conservative Party over opponent Jeremy Hunt. The pro-Brexit politician is set to replace Theresa May as Britain’s prime minister and will be brokering a deal for U.K.’s exit from the European Union.
President Trump, who has been a vocal supporter of Boris Johnson, also tweeted out his congratulations to the incoming United Kingdom Prime Minister — correctly.
Congratulations to Boris Johnson on becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He will be great!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 23, 2019
