The United Church of Granville, formerly First Baptist Church of Granville, was constituted by Granville’s original settlers and was instrumental in the founding of the Granville Female Academy and, subsequently, Denison University. For many years the congregation has been known for its outspoken support of those who are marginalized and for opposition to violence in our community and the world. Thompson is the newest senior pastor of the church, and will speak from a pulpit that has featured well-known diplomats and theologians, authors and artists, as well as three U.S. presidents.

Church services are being offered simultaneously in person (masked and distanced) and online. All are welcome to join in welcoming Rev. Thompson and her family to Granville and Licking County.
