Underage man arrested after using outrageously fake ID to get into bar

A 20-year-old Iowa man was arrested last Friday after he allegedly used a fake ID with the name "McLovin" to get into a bar, the Iowa City Press-Citizen reports.

According to Iowa City authorities, an officer approached Daniel Alfredo Burleson, 20, of Des Moines, in Airliner Bar around 1:30 that morning. Burleson repoprtedly had a drink in his hand and told the police that he was drinking a beverage containing vodka.

When the officer asked the 20-year-old for identification, Burleson refused, according to a complaint. He was then taken out of the bar and showed police his real ID, which revealed that he was under the legal drinking age.

Law enforcement also reportedly asked Burleson for his fake ID. Though he claimed that he didn't have one, authorities said they noticed a fake Hawaii ID with the name "McLovin DOB 06/03/1981" as he shuffled through his wallet. The name "McLovin" is in reference to the popular alias that Fogell, a character in the film "Superbad," uses to buy alcohol at a liquor store.

Police said Burleson revealed that he had bought the fake ID on Amazon. A dispatcher allegedly ran a search of the ID, which failed to turn up anything.

The 20-year-old faces several charges including public intoxication, under legal age in a bar, possession of a fictitious license and possession of alcohol while underage. On Wednesday, his arrest caught the attention of Seth Rogen, who co-wrote and starred in "Superbad."
