Apr. 16—The UND theatre arts department is presenting "Songs for a New World" for at-home viewing April 16-17 and April 22 through 24.

The production is available for viewing online. Tickets may be purchased through the UND Theatre's online box office at burtness.und.edu.

The musical, by Tony Award-winning Jason Robert Brown, is about coming to a crossroad and surviving a new set of circumstances. It is a moving collection of powerful songs that examines life, love and the choices people make.

Directed and choreographed by Chelsea Chimilar, the play introduces "a startling array of characters that transports the audience on a journey of transformation with each unique character," according to a news release.

The contemporary score, with music direction by Brent Mauldin, runs the gamut of popular music in a production that revolves around a common theme — the moment of decision, the point at which a person transitions from old to new.

Cast members are: Erin Chaves, Katie Germain, Robert Cooper, Kyle Mason, Piper Sommer, Stevee Wittlieb, Daniel Jung, Tyler Hebert and Trece Hopp.

Band members are: Brent Mauldin, Lane Lindseth, Maya Zepeda and Katie Ellis.

Technical crew members are: Shelby Hazel, Brad Reissig, Sarah Kohler and Tyler Smith.

Individual tickets are $25 and a group ticket is $25. Group tickets will allow the show to be viewed by members of the group or household.
