Bryce Mitchell pulled off just the second twister finish in UFC history against Matt Sayles.

Mitchell faced Sayles in December 2019 at UFC on ESPN 7 and put his name on the map with the rare submission.

Just 20 seconds into the fight, Mitchell landed a takedown. He was able to secure dominant position on the ground – transitioning from full mount, to back control, and finally into a twister, which he pulled off in the remaining minute of Round 1, forcing Sayles to tap out.

Since then, Mitchell (15-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) has won three straight – including a dominant decision over Edson Barboza.

He returns to action Saturday when he takes on fellow unbeaten fighter Ilia Topuria (12-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) in the main card opener of UFC 282, which takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2 and early prelims on ESPN+.

Before he faces Topuria, relive Mitchell’s finish of Sayles in the video above.
