UConn women open Big East play tonight at Seton Hall

Dec. 2—The UConn women's basketball team opens Big East Conference play on Friday night at Seton Hall. The game at Walsh Gymnasium begins at 7 p.m., and will be televised by SNY.

The second-ranked Huskies (3-1) will be playing for the first time in 11 days. The Huskies' last contest was a 73-57 loss to No. 1 South Carolina in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game. Sophomore Paige Bueckers led UConn with 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds.

Seton Hall (3-2) is coming off an overtime 68-63 win over Toledo last Friday. Lauren Park-Lane is averaging 19.0 points per game while Andra Espinoza-Hunter has 18.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

UConn is 53-10 all-time vs. Seton Hall. In UConn's first season back in the Big East last year, the Huskies took both games vs. the Pirates. Bueckers averaged 24.0 points per game vs. Seton Hall last season. The Huskies have won the last 23 matchups with the Pirates.

UConn freshman guard Azzi Fudd is out for at least two weeks while dealing with a right foot injury. Sophomore Nika Muhl and freshman Caroline Ducharme will likely take her spot in the lineup.
