UConn wins instant classic over Baylor, advances to 13th-straight Final Four

Yahoo Sports College Expert Cassandra Negley takes you through the epic Elite 8 matchup between Uconn and Baylor, and explains how freshman phenom Paige Bueckers carried the Huskies to victory.

CASSANDRA NEGLEY - This is Cassandra Negley with Yahoo Sports recapping that incredible elite A game between UConn and Baylor it was great from the tip. UConn went on an early run answered by Baylor. They went into the half two points away from each other Baylor jump out to a 10 point lead the deepest deficit that UConn has had this entire tournament but then DiDi Richards appeared to have a hamstring injury. She's the reigning defensive player of the year. And she was huge for Baylor even though she doesn't get involved offensively a lot.

UConn went one on 19-0 run led by Paige Bueckers who started it all. She finished with 28 points but she didn't have an assist. That was huge. Baylor could have taken this game because they got into the lane in transition UConn turned the ball over a bunch. This was a close one all the way through even given the UConn 19-0 run. At the very end Baylor had a chance to take the lead on a final shot by DiJonai Carrington who really carried the Bears. It appeared she was found on the elbow. Kim Mulkey commented on it in the post-game. The refs missed it and UConn won. They'll advance to their 13th consecutive Final Four and of course, do with the freshmen Bueckers. She's been everything she's been billed to be this year and in the brightest stage she stepped up in the fourth quarter to lead UConn to the win.
