Tyson Foods distributes 34,000 pounds of food in Albany

Sep. 28—ALBANY — Tyson Foods distributed 34,000 pounds of food in Albany — more than 15,000 cases of frozen chicken products — during a community donation event at Feeding the Valley Food Bank Tuesday.

Tyson officials said the company is proud to support families in Camilla and surrounding areas through its contributions of protein products that will provide nutritious, quality food to the broader community. Tyson has a plant in Camilla.

Volunteers from Tyson Foods distributed the cases of protein products.

"Tyson Foods is dedicated to helping families in need in our local Camilla community, and we are proud to partner with great organizations that are doing so much good like Feeding the Valley Food Bank," Clay Banks, the Camilla complex manager for Tyson Foods, said in a news release. "We are always looking for ways to improve the quality of life in the communities where we operate, and working with Feeding the Valley to provide high-quality protein can help make a difference."

Tyson officials said the company is committed to relieving hunger in the U.S. and helping communities affected by food insecurity.
