FALMOUTH — Two men charged with the Sept. 22 fatal stabbing of Douglas Rose will be in Falmouth District Court for a pretrial hearing on Nov. 4.

The stabbing allegedly stemmed from the theft of narcotics, according to a Falmouth police report.

Charee Rainey, 40, of Brighton was arrested in Texas on Sept. 28 and brought back to Massachusetts after he waived extradition, according to Falmouth District Court records. The second, defendant, Tishaun Miller, 41, of East Bridgewater was arrested by East Bridgewater police on Sept. 29.

Both defendants are charged with murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to court records. Miller was arraigned on Sept. 30 and Rainey was arraigned on Oct. 6 in Falmouth District Court. They are both being held at Barnstable County Correctional Facility in Bourne without bail, according to a statement from the Cape and Islands District Attorney's office.

Lawyers for the two defendants did not respond to phone messages left by the Times.

Falmouth police responded to a 6:25 p.m. 911 call about a disturbance at 250 Davisville Road in East Falmouth on Sept 22, District Attorney Michael O' Keefe said at the scene. Upon arrival, they found Rose in front of his home, bleeding profusely from what appeared to be stab wounds.

Although medical treatment was provided at the scene, Rose, 41, was later pronounced dead at Falmouth Hospital.

According to witnesses interviewed by police, Rose allegedly stole $600 worth of narcotics from a woman, according to the police report. The woman, who police did not identify, allegedly sold narcotics for one of the men accused of stabbing Rose, the police report says.

The woman then sent multiple text messages to Rose threatening him. She then contacted the two defendants and drove them to Rose’s residence where he was stabbed, according to the police report.

The text messages included in the police report suggest a romantic relationship between the woman and Rose.
