LAKE WORTH BEACH — Two men died and a woman sustained critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash in the south end of Lake Worth Beach on Saturday night, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Sunday.

Investigators say the driver, Jason Figueroa Jr., 22, of Lake Worth Beach and a passenger, Agapito Rivera, 32, of Boynton Beach died from injuries sustained when their 2005 GMC Sierra pickup collided with a 1999 Toyota Camry sedan shortly before 7:30 p.m. at Sixth Avenue South and Sunset Drive, deputies said.

A second passenger in the pickup, identified as Brianda Yadira Aguilar, 32, was in critical condition Sunday evening. The driver of the Toyota, identified as Pascual Pedro Juarez, 44, of Lake Worth Beach, had minor injuries, deputies said.

According to the report, the pickup was traveling east on Sixth at a high rate of speed while the Toyota was traveling west and preparing to make a left turn onto Sunset.

As the Toyota began its turn, the Sierra struck it on the passenger's side. The pickup continued onto a raised sidewalk and hit a concrete utility pole, deputies said.

Rivera died at the scene. Figueroa and Aguilar were driven to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where Figueroa succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators are working to determine whether Figueroa was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the report said.
