Two new hotels overlooking the Country Club Plaza to offer more food, bar options

New side-by-side hotels overlooking the Country Club Plaza will also offer restaurant and bar options for tourists and residents alike.

Aloft

Aloft Hotel Kansas City Country Club Plaza opened this month at 393 W. 46th St. It is a seven-story, 121-room hotel by Marriott.

W XYZ Bar opens at 5 p.m. daily and offers specialty cocktails, beer, seltzer and cider. Small bites include Korean barbecue pork tacos, sweet chili wings, bacon cheese fries, macaroni and cheese, and salads. It will feature live music and other events on some nights in the lounge.

Re:fuel By Aloft is a grab-and-go 24-hour market. Offerings include the OG B.E.C. Sandwich (bacon, fried egg and cheddar on a brioche bun with roasted tomato and spinach), pastries, chips and bottled drinks.

Cascade

Cascade Hotel Kansas City — A Tribute Portfolio Hotel will have 10 floors and 177 rooms. It is scheduled to open this summer at 4600 Wornall Road.

It will have lobby and rooftop bars.

Strang Chef Collectives plans to open an 11,000-square-foot food hall in the hotel in early summer. It will have its own entrance, two full bars, four chef kitchens and a coffee shop on two levels. The chefs will be announced later.

It will have indoor and outdoor dining, offer room service and catering. Menus will target breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night.

Strang Chef Collectives also has locations in downtown Kansas City and downtown Overland Park.

Kansas City’s Capital Management Inc. developed and will manage the two Marriott hotels, which will connect with an interior walkway
