Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher has joined the cast of Reese Witherspoon's upcoming Netflix romcom Your Place or Mine.

Based on an original script by Aline Brosh McKenna, the screenwriter behind titles such as The Devil Wears Prada, We Bought a Zoo and 27 Dresses, the movie centres on two best friends who live on opposite sides of the US and decide to swap homes for a week in an attempt to switch up their lives.

Think The Holiday, but not set at Christmas time. (Presumably, anyway, the jury is still out on when exactly in the year the film will take place.)

Deadline confirms that Witherspoon is set to star alongside Kutcher, while McKenna is on board to direct. Ozark's Jason Bateman will produce with Michael Costigan under their Aggregate Films banner, McKenna's Lean Machine and Witherspoon's company Hello Sunshine.

As of 2020, Aggregate Films has a first-look deal with Netflix to generate film and television projects, having previously had a two-year first-look producing deal with Universal Pictures.

Kutcher is no stranger to the realms of romantic comedy, having appeared in big screen outings like What Happens in Vegas, Valentine's Day, No Strings Attached and New Year's Eve across his career.

His TV credits outside of Two and a Half Men include Netflix's The Ranch, That '70s Show and popular celebrity prank series Punk'd.
