Two die in separate Grant County collisions

Jun. 15—GRANT COUNTY — An Othello man and a Moses Lake child died in separate vehicle collisions Sunday near Moses Lake.

Sharon Palmerton, public information officer with the Grant County Sheriff's Office, said 2-year-old Evalee Sanchez died in a collision at about 3:20 p.m. at the intersection of North Dodson Road and Road 4 Northwest. The child was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Edgar Alba, 22, of Moses Lake.

Alba was driving south on Dodson Road and attempted to make a left turn on Road 4 Northwest. He turned in front of a vehicle driven by Lurie Buza, 34, of Maple Valley, Palmerton said.

Buza struck Alba's vehicle on the rear passenger door, near where the child was seated. The child was flown to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, where she was pronounced dead.

A woman passenger and a 6-month-old child in Alba's vehicle had non-life-threatening injuries, Palmerton said. Buza, an adult passenger, a 6-year-child and a 4-year-old child also had non-life-threatening injuries. All the children were in car seats, Palmerton said.

Rosario Ramos Dominguez, 74, died in the other collision at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3900 block of East Frontage Road.

Dominguez was driving east on Frontage Road when a car driven by Christopher Zufall, 43, of East Wenatchee, crossed the center line and hit Dominguez' vehicle head-on, Palmerton said.

Dominguez was transported to Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Zufall and one passenger also were transported, and the passenger was later released.

Both collisions are still under investigation by the GCSO Motor Traffic Unit, Palmerton said.
