Two arrested after car crash in Palm Beach, police say
Palm Beach Police arrested two people early Saturday after a vehicle crash in the Midtown area, a spokesman said.
Capt. Will Rothrock said the investigation is still ongoing but that "some subjects fled the scene on foot" after the crash and at least two were found.
The town issued an alert shortly before 12:30 a.m. about heightened police activity in the area of Hibiscus, Peruvian and Brazilian avenues and South County Road.
An early morning beachgoer told the Daily News that police said they would not unlock the gates to the beach while they were “working this case,” but that they would get to it when they could.
In another alert issued shortly before 10:30 a.m., the police department said it has concluded its investigation in the Midtown area and the roads were clear.
"The Police Department reminds all residents to report any suspicious activity they observe," the alert said.
No further details were immediately available.
