12-week-old baby dies in Cambridgeshire as police launch investigation

Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 12-week-old baby.

Cambridgeshire Police announced that the infant died on Monday at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The child was reportedly injured in St Neots on November 1 and taken to hospital.

A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Both suspects were bailed a day later until November 28.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "His death is being treated as suspicious and an investigation has been launched.

"A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have since been released on police bail until 28 November."

The force said the investigation is in its early stages and have not named the boy or disclosed details about his injuries.
