Twitter reacts: Justyn Ross goes undrafted
Most mock drafts projected former Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross to be a day two or early day three prospect, but after Ross waited and waited for hours, he went undrafted, sending Twitter into a frenzy.
Similar to Andrew Booth Jr., Ross’ biggest concern heading into the draft was his injury history. He missed the entire 2020 season because of spinal surgery and battled through a foot injury in 2021 that forced him to miss three games.
It seemed like Ross’ injury history was the main reason for his fall, but even with his struggle to stay healthy, the upside for the wideout is massive.
On one of the most inconsistent offenses last season, Ross had a team-high 514 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 46 receptions. As a freshman in 2018, Ross had 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns on 46 receptions. He followed that season up with a strong sophomore campaign, recording 865 yards and eight touchdowns on 66 receptions.

Ross will now try to find his team as an undrafted free agent.

Crazy how WR Justyn Ross was once considered one of the best WRs coming out of college but the injuries are making him fall. If he can stay healthy in the NFL he’d be a great WR for any team.

Justyn Ross is a perfect example of why I think it’s an odd practice to take players “off the board.”
No way his upside is not worth a shot in the 6-7th round, despite the medical concerns. NFL teams are especially scared off by atypical/congenital issues like Ross’ neck.

Justyn Ross' health history is a completely understandable concern, but teams not taking a chance on him at this point in the draft feels insane.
Was a lock to be a first rounder at his peak before the spinal surgery.

Justyn Ross battled a foot injury all of 2021, missed 3 games, had inconsistent QB play and still far and away led Clemson in receptions/yards. He should've come off the board long before now. If he can get back to freshman level or even close he's a 1st or 2nd round talent

Phenix City, AL native WR Justyn Ross (Clemson) somehow goes undrafted.
Has had some medical issues, but he had a 1,000 yard Freshman season (158/2,379 total), dominated the 2018 CFB playoffs, and is such a good all-around receiver.
