Turkish-Flagged Ship Carrying Over 380 Migrants Docks at Greek Port

A Turkish-flagged ship carrying over 380 migrants docked at the port in Kos, Greece, on the morning of Sunday, October 31, according to the Hellenic Coastguard.

The coastguard 381 passengers of various nationalities disembarked safely. One of them, a 50-year-old man, was transported to hospital upon arrival for treatment.

Greek Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi tweeted that it was a “needless dangerous journey facilitated by criminal gangs,” adding that “Unlike Turkey and others that ignored the problem, Greece stepped up” but “cannot solve the migration crisis alone.”

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Greece issued a statement that it was “grateful to the Greek authorities and [stood] ready to provide any support necessary.”
