Tuesday's HS roundup: Romps, Portsmouth girls sail to 10th win

WINDHAM - Avery Romps led eight other teammates with a game-high 21 points as the Portsmouth High School girls basketball team improved to 10-1 on the season with a 63-31 win at Windham on Tuesday in a Division I game.

Windham is now 7-4.

Maddie MacCannell added 11 for the Clippers, while Savannah Emery had eight. Margaret Montplaisir had 15 rebounds in the win.


Exeter 46

EXETER - Emma Smith had 14 points and three steals, while teammate Ari Pompeo had eight points and seven rebounds for Exeter in this Division I win.

Rachel Ludwig added seven points and five rebounds for the Blue Hawks.

Spaulding 45 

Nashua North 32 

NASHUA - Jenna Philbrook’s 16 points led Spaulding (7-4) to this Division I win. Mackenzie Brochu added 13 points in the win.

St. Thomas Aquinas 61 

Raymond 21 

RAYMOND – The Saints had 11 players who scored in this Division III win, improving to 9-4 on the season.

Sophomore Genna Bolduc had 15 points and 10 rebounds for STA, while Maddie McMahon, Elizabeth Flynn and Emma Toriello all had nine points. Abby Rayder (six points) and Emilie von der Linden (four points, eight rebounds) also contributed in the win.

YORK, Maine – Ava Brent had 15 points and Nya Avery added 12 for York in this Class B South win.

Madison Raymond scored eight points for the Wildcats.

Seacoast Christian 49 

Temple Academy 22 

ELIOT, Maine - Breckyn Winship’s 25 points and 14 rebounds led Seacoast Christian to this Class D South win.

Ellie Odess tossed in a career-high 15 points for the Guardians, while Ellie Leech had a triple-double with 10 rebounds, 11 assists, and 11 steals.

DOVER -  Brady Rogers had a game-high 26 points, while freshman AJ Reinertson had 19 as STA improved to 12-1 with this Division III win.

MANCHESTER – Ryan Luper (20) and Evan Pafford (18) combined for 38 points as Exeter fell to 7-4 after this Division I loss.

Bedford 81 

Winnacunnet 52 

BEDFORD – The Bulldogs scored 31 points in the first quarter and never looked back in this Division I win over Winnacunnet (6-4).

Bedford is now 11-1.

Tyson Khalil led the Warriors with 15 points, while Andrew Simmons had 10, and Joshua Schaake eight.

ROCHESTER – Zander Walbridge scored a team-high 15 points, but Spaulding fell to 1-10 with this Division I loss.

Parth Miglani’s 23 points led Nashua North.

DURHAM - Mason Tatarian's team-high 20 points led Oyster River to this Division II win.

Sean Lynch and Matthew Jernigan added 13 and nine points, respectively, for the Bobcats.

POLAND, Maine – Derek Parsons’ 15 points led York in this Class B South loss.

Seacoast Christian 55 

Temple Academy 36 

ELIOT, Maine - Sunny Johnson scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Seacoast Christian in this Class D South win.

Isaiah Cardinal added 15 points, eight steals and six assists for the Guardians, while Seth Vega and Brady Winship both had seven points.

PORTSMOUTH - Matthew Minckler scored 21 of his game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter and two overtimem sessions, leading Portsmouth to this Division I win.

Jack St Hiliare's 20 points led Windham.

DOVER - Juliana Grella had three goals and Bella Carey had two for the Saints in this Division I win at Dover Ice Arena.

McKenzie Wessling, Delaney Riley and Christi Trudel all had one goal in the win.

Kayley Young had two assist for the Saints, while Riley, Wessling, Bridget Kelly, Hannah Henderson and Sophia Cedrone all had one.

Diana Pivirotto (six saves) and Kensley Harris (nine) split the goal-tending duties for the Saints.

Oyster River/Portsmouth 7

Pinkerton 1

HOOKSETT - Eliza Farwell had two goals, while Maeve Harney, Kelly Zhang, Emma Sahr, Elizabeth Walent and Kira Jacobs all had one for Oyster River/Portsmouth in this Division I win at Tri-Town Arena.

Amelie Cowieson earned the win in goal.
