Put down those falsies!

In the latest episode of Pretty Beautiful, video producer Lisa Azcona tries a hack for thicker eyelashes — using baby powder. Yes, baby powder may be the secret to the long, thick lashes of your dreams.

Here’s how to try the hack for yourself: First, coat your lashes with a layer of mascara as you normally would. Lisa uses a tried-and-true affordable formula — Maybelline’s Great Lash. Before the mascara dries, roll a separate clean spoolie through some cornstarch-based baby powder, then brush the coated spool through your lashes. Be sure your eyes are fully shut when you do this and be very careful.

“It feels like fairy dust for my lashes,” Lisa says.

Next, add a second coat of mascara to seal the powder in, applying the formula until you don’t see any more baby powder. Finally, dust off any powder that may have fallen on to your face. Consider it extra setting powder for your look.

As for results, Lisa says the baby powder made her lashes bolder and thicker, and surprisingly added some length to her eyelashes.

“It does look a little bit clumpy, but it’s really up to you if you like that look. I know some people don’t,” Lisa says.

“I do regret doing my eyeliner before trying this hack because now my eyeliner has a white cast,” Lisa adds. That, however, is easily remedied with a quick touch-up.

If you want to try this hack, just be sure to not inhale the baby powder. It can irritate your lungs and create respiratory problems. Not only that, but make sure to carefully apply the powder so it doesn’t get in your eyes and discontinue use if you experience irritation. It’s best to use cornstarch-based baby powder instead of those made with controversial talcum powder. Proceed at your own risk…

All in the pursuit of killer lashes.
