He apologized for the 'embarrassment' and 'pain' he caused.

Tristan Thompson is paying tribute to his late mother in a moving Instagram post.

Andrea Thompson passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 6 after suffering a heart attack.

Nearly a month later, Thomspon has broken his silence, sharing a carousel of photos dedicated to Andrea and apologizing for the “embarrassment” and “pain” he caused in a lengthy caption.

“Dearest mommy in heaven, It has been one month since you’ve been gone. I’m in disbelief. Im in the deepest part of sorrow & grief. My soul is empty as I come to terms that my biggest supporter/superhero is gone,” he began in the emotional tribute.

He thanked his mother for picking him to be her son and dedicating her life to her boys, noting, “Mommy, all the sacrifices you did for ur sons will never go unnoticed or without appreciation. You were an amazing mommy, role model, best friend & the strongest woman I know.”

Thompson then offered a sincere apology, writing, “All I can say is, Im sorry mommy for the wrong decisions Ive made in my life. Im sorry for the embarrassment &pain. You raised me better than what I was able to show you.”

He acknowledged that he has “learned sorry is not enough” and added that “actions speak louder than word.”

“Stay tuned to the ways I will show the world what an amazing son you raised. I will show you that even when we fall & make mistakes, we get back up. You are my motivation. Stand beside me as I become the man I know you always believed in,” he noted.

He vowed to make his mom proud and to take care of his brother, Amari, noting, “I’ll protect him, love him &do anything in the world to make sure he’s ok.”

“I know they say time heals all but I don’t think this pain will ever go away. We had so many memories &more I wanted to share with you. We will still share them but now from heaven,” he wrote, describing the pain of losing a loved one far too soon.

As he asked his mother to continue to be his "light," he signed off on the post with “your first born, Tristan.”

The first photo in the slideshow featured Andrea surrounded by all her children. Tristan has three siblings including Amari, his youngest sibling who has epilepsy, Dishawn Thompson, and Daniel Thompson.

He also included a photo of his mother and her granddaughter, True Thompson, 4, along with a snap featuring True’s mother, Khloe Kardashian. The duo also share a son, though they haven't revealed his name yet. Tristan is also a dad to six-year-old Prince Oliver with former girlfriend and model Jordan Craig and one-year-old Theo with Maralee Nichols.

The final photo was likely Thompson's last with his mother as it shows his hands gripping hers in what seems to be a hospital bed setting.

The NBA player received love in the comments, with LeBron James commenting, “🤎🤎,” Kim Kardashian sharing, “🤍🕊️,” and Malika writing, “Mommy’s baby. She is with you 🙏🏾.”

Tristan received plenty of support from the Kardashian-Jenner family following his mother's death as he and Khloe took a private jet to Canada immediately after learning the news, with Kim and Kris arriving in the days that followed to attend the funeral.
