Triple-Doubles and high scoring efforts highlight first Player of the Week Poll of 2022

Every week this sports season, fans across Delmarva will have the chance to vote for the Delmarva Now Player of the Week.

Nominees are selected based on their performance over the past seven days: Jan. 10-16. Anyone can submit a candidate by emailing abranch@delmarvanow.com or dailytimessports@delmarvanow.com. You must email the athlete's name, school, sport and stats from that week.

Votes will only be counted the poll below. Do not email your vote.

Voting opens Monday and will close Wednesday at 3 p.m. A breakdown of each athlete's week is available underneath. The winner will be announced on the Delmarva Now and Shore Sports Facebook pages, as well as @MyDelmarvaNow and @DelmarvaScores on Twitter.

Here are the nominees for this week:

Nadia Bullock (Stephen Decatur Girls Basketball)

  • Scored 34 points in the Seahawks' win against Parkside on Jan. 13.

Davin Chandler (Delmar Boys Basketball)

  • Recorded a triple-double (19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals) against Indian River on Jan. 11.

Amanda Ballard (Parkside Girls Basketball)

  • Scored 43 points against Stephen Decatur on Jan. 13.

Ja'Ron Smith (James M. Bennett Boys Basketball)

  • Scored 24 points in the Clippers win against Wicomico on Jan. 14.

Brandon Craig (Salisbury University Men's Basketball)

  • Scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench against Penn State-Altoona on Jan. 12.
