Travelodge is offering more than 1 million rooms at £25 or less per night in an effort to respond to the coronavirus crisis.

The budget hotel chain made the announcement in the run-up to Christmas, as the hospitality industry tries to find a way to combat the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Travelodge, which has 575 premises across the UK, is hoping its move could have a positive impact on room occupancy given England’s three-tier lockdown system.

In June, Travelodge announced that landlords had agreed a deal to slash its rent during the pandemic.

It encouraged people to use the hotels to stay near friends and family before meeting up.

The company said: “You can easily find a Travelodge close to your family and friends’ house and safely visit them whilst adhering to the COVID-19 social distance rules.”

In Tier 1, people cannot meet up in a group of more than six indoors or outdoors, unless they are in a larger household or part of a support bubble.

People living in Tier 1 can stay in hotels within their tier and also travel to Tier 2 areas.

They can stay in a hotel with anyone, but the rule of six applies.

In Tier 2, you can meet friends and family only outdoors, and only in a group of up to six people.

People living in Tier 2 can travel to hotels within Tier 1 or Tier 2, but only with people in their household or support bubble.

The government has advised people not to travel into or out of Tier 3 areas.

If you live in Tier 3, you can stay in a Tier 3 hotel but only with those from your household or support bubble.

The Travelodge offer is available on stays from 1 November.

The company said a family of four can stay in a £25 room for just £6.25 per person.

The offer also includes New Year’s Eve and dates in January, Travelodge said.

It has also reopened most of its bar cafés, which now only have table service.
